Donald Lee Smith, 73, of Huntington, W Va., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at home.

He was born on May 27, 1945, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Dewey Smith and Annabell (Clark) Smith. Donald was a proud Vietnam Veteran!

He is preceded in death by his parents; his late loving wife, Barbara Jane Smith; grandson, Tanner Edwards; sister, Wilma Vanhorn; and son-in-law, Eric Freeman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory; daughters, Sonia Freeman, Donna Hutchinson, Valerie Kelley, Kelly Edwards, & Jeani Heck; sons, Eric Ray Smith, Dale Urban & Eddie Wikel (Shellie); sisters, Marcella Odom and Betty Cabbell; and brother, June Smith.

Also, surviving are his grandchildren: Donovan (Erin), Stephanie, Paige, Jessie, Jered, Erica Ludwig, Erica Smith, Drake, Tyler, Travis, Grace, Kala, Haley (Cameron), Darian, Ernie, Billy, Dezeria, Destiny, Ella, Isaiah, Jeremy, Ian (Stacey), Christie, Michael & Tori; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Pastor Randall Robertson, officiating. Family will welcome friends at 12 Noon. Burial will follow service at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project.
