Ashland, Kentucky - Donald Ray Stewart, 71, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Born on May 4, 1954, in Ashland, he was the son of the late John C. Stewart Sr. and Margaret Clevenger Stewart. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Patricia Stewart, on November 6, 2025.

Don was a graduate of Tates Creek High School, the University of Kentucky, and Morehead State University. He began his career in accounting with Foodland, later joined Big Sandy, and most recently worked with Ashland Office Supply. A passionate car enthusiast, he enjoyed building and showing cars and attending car shows.

He is survived by his brother, John C. Stewart Jr. of Ashland; his nephew, John C. "Jay" Stewart III and wife Kelly of Naperville, Illinois; his nieces, Heather Wolfe of Ashland and Katherine "Katie" Griffith and husband Geoff of Russell. Don is also survived by his significant other, Debbie Weinfurtner of Ashland; her daughter, Leigh Ann Romer and husband Doug; and their son, Cohen Romer of Lexington, South Carolina. Additional survivors include his great-nieces and great-nephews: Landon, Tyson and Roman Griffith; Avery and Nolan Stewart; and Mason and Addison Wolfe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel, with Pastor Joey Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will take place on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
