Dorothy Brown Burke
Dorothy Brown Burke, 90, youngest child of the late Richard and Mary Charles Brown of Magoffin County, Kentucky, went home to the Lord, Tuesday, February 11, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Dorothy was married to James Burke, the love of her life, for 67 years prior to his passing.
She was also preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by a daughter, Pamela Gail Burke Kamps; 5 sisters; and 5 brothers.
Dorothy was a member of Shawnee Church of God in Flatwoods, Kentucky, and dearly loved her visits from Pastor Jim Stamper. She enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, and crocheting.
She is survived by 2 grandchildren, Amanda Kamps and Samuel Kamps; 2 great-granddaughters, Berlin and Britain. Kevin White (Lana) was like her own, and she loved him dearly. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Elaine and Larry Howard, Brenda and Bruce Campbell, Jean Deerfield; special friends, Mary White, Helen Kozee, and Eldean Roberts.
Dorothy went to Heaven to see her husband James, and daughter, Pam.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 18, at 1 p.m. at PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME by Pastor Jim Stamper. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from Noon until service time Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Shawnee Church of God, 1303 Beth Ann Drive, Flatwoods, Kentucky 41139.
