Ernest Eugene Bush
Ernest Eugene Bush, 83, of Ashland, Ky., went to be with his Lord on October 12, 2019, at his residence.
He was born on September 21, 1936, to the late Ernest A. and Juanita Sloan Bush.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ann Williams Bush in January of 2000.
He was retired from Armco/AK Steel after 36 years where he was maintenance foreman in the hot strip mill. He served in the Kentucky National Guard for nine years, and was a Kentucky Colonel and a KDMC Volunteer. Ernest loved to travel and had visited 48 states. He was a faithful member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter, loved visitation and to share in his testimony.
He is survived by sons Michael E. Bush (Claudia), Dr. David K. Bush (Kimberly) and John T. Bush (Gina) all of Ashland, Ky.; grandchildren Johnny Bush (Shaina) of Ashland, Ky., Kyle Bush (Sarah) of Marion, Ala., David Bush, Jr. and Rachael Bush both of Ashland, Ky.; great grandchildren Kayden Bush and Jensen Bush; and a brother, Kenneth R. Bush (Kay) of Ashland, Ky.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel, and will be officiated by Pastor Matt Shamblin. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Lantern Jaw was one of the best, I would have trusted him with my life. Up most respect and sadness to the Bush family

My prayers go out to the Bush family and friends. I didn't know Ernie personally, but my daughter befriended at Trinity Station and she loved Erine...she is very sad because of his passing and misses him already. God Bless.
