Ernestine Rigsby Blanton
Ernestine Rigsby Blanton, 83, of Ashland, died Monday, March 23, 2020, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born February 16, 1937, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Vernon and Lillian (Wells) Rigsby.
She was a homemaker in her own home and a member of South Ashland United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, William Dexter Blanton who passed away October 9, 2016; a son, Randy Blanton; and a brother, Sam Rigsby of Ashland, Ky.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Bill) Hammond of Ashland, Ky.; a son, Russ (Val) Blanton of Harrisonburg, Va.; 8 grandchildren, Tina (Josh) Wilkes of Ashland, Ky., Billy Hammond of Wilmington, N.C., Jason (Ashley) Hammond of Lexington, Ky., Cory, Randi, Zack (Victoria), Natalie, and Joe Blanton all of Harrisonburg, Va.; 3 great-grandchildren, Thad Blanton of Harrisonburg, Va., Lexi Wilkes of Ashland, Ky., and Sloane Hammond of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Betty (Roger) Rice of Ashland, Ky.; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Ashland United Methodist Church 2203 29th St, Ashland, KY 41101, or the Community Hospice Care Center 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, Ky 41101.
There is no service planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lazear Funeral Home of Ashland, Ky.
