Raceland, Kentucky - Hazel Virginia Stewart Scott , 99 years old, of Raceland, Ky., passed away October 4, 2019, to her heavenly home at her residence.

She was born February 3, 1920, at Kavanaugh, Rural Boyd County Kentucky.

Mrs. Scott was the daughter of the late Oliver H. and Sadie Virginia (Queen) Stewart.

Hazel was retired from Columbus Depot Public Employees Association of Ohio. Hazel was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Flatwoods, Ky., a former member of First Baptist Church and Baptist Women of Circleville, Ohio, and also a former member of PERI of Greenup County, Ky., and a former member of Mt. Pleasant Grange of Pickaway County, Ohio.

In addition to her parents Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Robert Garfield Scott in 1975; two brothers, Wilbur A. Stewart and Charles Russell Stewart; three sisters, Mary Adeline Vanhorn, Ruby S. Crider and Mabel Jeter; and a nephew, William Russell Stewart.

She is survived by a nephew Hal (Teresa) Jeter of Ashland, Ky.; two nieces Willadee (John) Wehmeyer of Greenwood, Mo., and Carole Ann (Wayne) Broughton of South Point, Ohio; and a niece-in-law Toni Stewart of Ashland, Ky. She is also survived by a wonderful care giver, Pam Howell of Raceland, Ky.

Funeral services were held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Marvin Boggs officiating. Interment followed at the Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain Street, Ironton, Ohio. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Community Hospice Care Center of Ashland, 2330 Pollard Rd., Ashland, KY.
