Ironton, Ohio - Helen Marie Hunt, 88, of Ironton, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Woodland Oaks in Ashland, KY. She was born in Boyd County, KY on March 23, 1938, to her late parents; Harry Snyder and Susan McKnight Snyder. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Melvin C. Hunt on January 19, 1996.

She attended both Russell High School and Ashland Community College. Helen was a member of Storms Creek Baptist Church and was a former cashier at Western Southern Life Insurance Company, where she retired after 34 years. Helen was a former member of the Lawrence County Hospital Auxiliary and S. Ashland Lions Club. It gave Helen great enjoyment to also be involved in Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the tri-state.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; Billy Joe Snyder and sister-in-law; Audrey Snyder.

She is survived by her daughter; Lisa Hunt of Columbus, OH, her nieces and nephews; Carolann (Michael) Botkins of Lexington, KY, Barbara (Danny) Salyers of Ashland, KY, Michael (Misty) Snyder of Ashland, KY, Billy (Lori) Snyder of Kansas and Susan (Kevin) Sergent of Lexington, KY and her brother; Harry (Patricia) Snyder, Jr.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 11, 2026, in Rose Hill Cemetery, 3801 13th St. Ashland, KY.
