James Anthony Maddox
Mr. James Anthony "Tony" Maddox, age 60, of Hitchins, Kentucky, entered into rest, Thursday morning, October 17, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born December 20, 1958, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of Mary Jean Maddox of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and the late Bobby Franklin Maddox.
Tony graduated from Paul Blazer High School and was a Boilermaker for Local Union 667 in Charleston, West Virginia. He loved going racing, working on engines, and watching sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcats.
He is survived by his wife 40 years, Joan Denise Bailey Maddox; one son, James Brandon Maddox of Hitchins, Kentucky; one daughter, Candy Lynn Coomer (Robert) of Greenup, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Emily Michelle Coomer and Robert Floyd "Bobby" Coomer, both of Greenup, Kentucky; one brother, Terry Maddox (Becky) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; three sisters, Kristy Boston (John Bill) of South Point, Ohio, Beth Messer (Mark) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Valorie Miller (Eric) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; two special friends, Tim Duley of Ashland, Kentucky and Richard "Hotdog" Slone of Grayson, Kentucky; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Stephanie Bailey of Ohio, and Russell and Janet Hall of Georgia. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Grayson, Kentucky, with Brother Tom Burbrink officiating.
Friends may visit from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Grayson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky 41143.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
