Jeff  McCalvin
Jeff "Mac" McCalvin, 58, of Ashland, died Friday, January 24, 2020, at his home.
Jeff was born April 28, 1961, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Mitchell and Georgia Irene Coffey McCalvin.
Jeff was a retired firefighter from the Ironton Fire Department. He was a member of Williams Creek Community Church and was a part of their youth choir during his teenage years. Jeff loved to bowl, which is where he met his wife, and was an advocate in promoting youth bowling. He was an avid UK fan and loved to fish.
Jeff is preceded in death by his dad.
He is survived by his wife Melissa "Missy" Conley McCalvin; his mother who he affectionately called "momma"; 1 daughter, Ashley Biars; and an extended "son and daughter" Ryan Dickess of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ashley (Matt) Malone of Coal Grove, Ohio; 2 brothers, George (Cindy) McCalvin of Ironton, Ohio and David (Teresa) McCalvin of Ashland, Ky.; a sister, Debbie McCalvin of Ashland, Ky.; and 7 "grandchildren". He is also survived by his furry companions Smokey & the Bandit.
In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Summit-Ironville Volunteer Fire Department, 252 State Route 716, Ashland, KY 41102.
Services for Jeff will be Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at 11 a.m. by Rev. James D. Muncy and Rev. Jeff Canfield at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland with burial to follow in McCalvin Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, January 28, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.

In The 42 Years I Knew Jeff , He was always a character . You will truly be missed . I’m Just Wondering Who Is Going To Constantly Remind Me That A Buckeye Is Just A Worthless Nut . I Will Always Be Thinking Of You .
