Jerry Lee Dillon, 75, of Coal Grove, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born March 2, 1948, a son of the late John Dillon, Sr. and Anna Bel Howell Dillon.
Jerry was a 1967 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and a member of Zoar Baptist Church in Coal Grove. He retired in 2001 after 34 years of service from Armco Steel as a truck driver in the transportation department. Jerry loved spending time with his family, tending to his garden, leather crafting, cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes, and watching dirt track racing and NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Dillon, Jr. (Johnny), and his sister, JoAnn Dillon Pierce.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rhonda Lou Frische Dillon, whom he married on August 8, 1980, his two sons, Jeremy Dale Dillon of Coal Grove and Joshua Dean (Chelsea) Dillon of Ashland, KY, and one brother-in-law, Nick Pierce of Calabash, N.C. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Zoar Baptist Church, Coal Grove, Ohio with Jeremy Dillon and Dr. Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery. The Dillon family will receive friends and family for visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
