Jesse Cain Jr., 64, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away Friday, May 22, with family by his side.
In his final weeks, listening to the Psalms brought him great comfort.
He was born June 9, 1955, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Hazel and Jesse Cain Sr.
He worked at the Dayton Malleable and Ironton Coke plant before 23 years of service at Ashland/Marathon Oil. He was a proud constituent of the Ironton community, coaching ball teams, officiating at Gus Macker tournaments, and helping facilitate the Mentor program at OUSC in the early 1990s.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Beatrice Cain, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Terri Cain-Wade, of Huntington; two sons Joseph K Cain (Aracely) of Friendswood, Texas and Jason M Cain of Cincinnati; a niece Kenya L Clemens of Ashland, Ky.; and five grandchildren, Joseph A Cain, Hannah Cain, Isabela Cain, and Javier Cain of Friendswood and Zion Ellis of Highland Heights, Ky.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th street, Ironton, Ohio with Reverend Richard Carter officiating. The family will welcome friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
