Jewel Borders Tucker Obituary

Loveland, Colorado - Jewel Borders Tucker, born September 18, 1925, in Ulysses, Kentucky, passed away just shy of her 100th birthday on August 16, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. Jewel had an amazing life. As the third oldest of ten children born to Carnalee and Arlie Borders, Jewel frequently recounted the daily mischief growing up in the hills of Kentucky with love, laughter, struggle and faith. A steadfast Christian, Jewel never wavered in her belief that God walked beside her through every facet of her life - guiding her and lifting her in good times and bad.

Jewel had a guileless sense of humor that often burst forth in uncontrollable laughter and sheer joy. As a child, she was very competitive in track and field events. Likewise, she was known to the family as the "Queen" due to her uncanny resemblance to Queen Elizabeth and her 'regal' behaviors!!

Over the course of her life, Jewel lived in Ashland, KY, Columbus, OH, Venice, FL and Longmont, CO, where she attended the Enterprise Baptist Church in Westwood, KY, the Advance Methodist Church of Flatwoods, KY, the First Church of God in South Venice, FL and Faith Point Baptist Church of Longmont, CO.

Jewel is survived by two children, Diana Bogard (Michael), Walter Reynolds, two grandchildren Kim Adkins, Julie Rusch (Mark), one great-grandchild Emily Adkins (Henry), three siblings, Carolyn Mullins, Earl Borders and Kate Patton, two step-daughters Terry Dye (Gary), Jerry Hoffman , three step-grandchildren Tracy Dye Lauvray (Brian), Stephanie Hoffman Hardin, Christine Hoffman Wood.

Jewel was preceded in death by her siblings Jack Borders, William Borders, Opal Taylor, Pearl Churella, Helen Wollenman, and Evelyn Fannin, spouses Walter Reynolds, Sr. and Jess Tucker, and step-granddaughter Jennifer Dye Croghan.

Memorial services will be held graveside at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell, Kentucky on October 6, 2025, at 11:30 am. An online tribute can be viewed at www.Howemortuary.com
