Jo Ann Brandenburg, 74, of Ashland, Ky, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Brandenburg was born on February 27, 1948, in Louisville, Ky. She is a daughter of the late Roy and Katherine Baugh Hamilton. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Hamilton, Dennis Hamilton and Johnny Hamilton.

She was married to her high school sweetheart for 56 years. She touched a lot of lives not only by being a great friend, wonderful mother and grandmother, but also through teaching school in the greater Ashland Independent School system for over 20 years.

Jo Ann is survived by her adoring husband Eric Brandenburg Sr; two daughters, Gina L. Haraway, Lisa Brandenburg; two sons, Eric Brandenburg Jr, Dr. John Brandenburg; one sister, Joyce Carnes; three brothers, Ronnie Hamilton, Ricky Hamilton, Terry Hamilton; five grandchildren, Taylor Brandenburg, Chase Brandenburg, Cody James Brandenburg, Chloe Brandenburg, Mia Brandenburg; as well as her extended family and friends.

Mrs. Brandenburg's family will host a Celebration of Life service at a later date. Friends and family will be contacted. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you send donations to Community Hospice in Ashland, KY.
