Catlettsburg, KY - Joseph Richard Marcum born on July 9, 1948 in Ashland, Kentucky, to Cara Terry and Don Marcum, passed away peacefully at his home August 15, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Joe lived a life full of love and dedication to his family. He attended Boyd County High School. He was the proud owner and operator of Marcum construction. He enjoyed a 60 year career in the construction business where he made many lifetime friendships.

Joe loved his family, his life was rich with the joys of fatherhood and being the best Papaw ever. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving grandchildren Timothy Aaron Cordial and Sydnee Grace Pinkerton, his sister April Marcum, and brother Terry Marcum. He is survived by his true love Rose. He also leaves behind his precious loved one's, Daughters Angela Kirk (Dave), Missy Pinkerton (Steven), Sara Griswold (Greg). Grandchildren, Brandie Bogar (Chris), Joseph Pendleton (Nicole), Taylor Suttles (Kody), Josh Kirk, Brinley Griswold, Mayci Griswold, Casie Porter, Alee Pinkerton, Zoee Pinkerton, Prezlee Pinkerton, Riggs Pinkerton, Kizer Suttles, Walker Pendleton, Kase Suttles, Karley Doolin, Bryce Doolin. Sisters Donna Sue Marcum Dean, Karen Faye Marcum Click, Brother Carl Marcum(Anita).

Visitation Service will be at Joe's home, 20195 Joe Marcum Road Catlettsburg Ky 41129, on Sunday, August 17, from 12 Noon until 9:00 pm. A private family graveside service will be on Monday, August 18, 2025, with Bro. Grant Grafton.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Joseph Pendelton, Joshua Kirk, Kenny Stroud, Kody Suttles, Chris Bogar and Dave Kirk.
