Kenneth "Buster" Donta, Jr., 63, of Ashland, formerly of Allen, Ky., passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
He was born November 8, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Kenneth Donta Sr. of Ashland, and the late Mary Gilliam Donta.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Donta.
Buster attended Bridges Christian Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and UK Fan. He retired first as Detective from the Winchester Police Department and then later retired from the Commonwealth Attorney's Office. He was a proud member of the Winchester/Clark County F.O.P. 34.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Lee Ann Ison Donta of Ashland; his father, Kenneth Donta, Sr., of Ashland; his children Will (Cara) Donta of Winchester, Ky., Sarah (Sam) Razor of Lexington, Ky., and Josh Donta of Lexington, Ky.; step son, Jacob (Mary) Eddy of Ashville, N.C.; step daughter, Shelby Eddy of Nicholasville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; mother in law, Edna Carol Rice of Ashland; special friends, Tony Burgess, Kenny Rice, William Elkins and Mark Elkins; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, in laws, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at Noon Monday, August 19, 2019, at Bridges Christian Church with Rev. Scott Byard officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until Noon Monday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Buster's memory may be made to Bridges Christian Church, 1402 Kenwood Drive, Russell, KY 41169; or to Winchester/Clark County F.O.P. #34, P.O. Box 921, Winchester, KY 40392 for the Shop with A Cop program.

Buster was a good friend and we worked at Winchester Police together. He always liked to fish and I just found out. He will be missed. RIP Brother

Really hate to hear this. Buster was a good friend of mine through elementary and high school. We played baseball and basketball together and attended Allen Methodist while growing up. He was a great guy and always had a smile on his face. Rest In Peace.
