Flatwoods, KY - Louise Ramey Hicks, 85, of Flatwoods, passed away August 11, 2025, in the Ashland Community Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Hicks was born June 16, 1940, in Ashland, to the late Edmond Ramey and Aliene Profitt.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Donald Hicks; one grandson, Chad Gabbard.

Louise was a retired adjuster for James J. Ryan Insurance Company and the property manager for the Alderman Gardens Apartments in Flatwoods. She spent her free time reading a good book and tending to her flower gardens. Louise was a 60+ year member of the Westwood Eastern Star. During her time with the organization, she served in many roles including Worthy Matron and was the Past Grand Worthy Matron of Kentucky. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and was appointed as a Kentucky Colonel.

She is survived by three daughters, Kim (Richard) Gabbard, Worthington, KY, Toni Hicks, Flatwoods, KY, and Lisa (Gary) Barker, Russell, KY; grandson, Jeremy Barker; great-grandchildren, Oliva Gabbard, Ava Gabbard, Braden Barker, and Graham Groce.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Community Hospice.

Private services were held in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Carman Funeral Home is caring for arrangements.
