Marlene Fannin, 86, of Raceland went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky.
Marlene was born on September 16, 1935 in Raceland, Ky. She is a daughter of the late Charles and Pauline Sims Fannin. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by three sisters, Irma Jean Simpson, Nelly Joyce Fannin, Geraldine Fannin; three brothers, Charles Fannin, David Fannin, Bill Ed Fannin and one grandson Joshua Kyle Fannin.
Ms. Fannin will be remembered as a wonderful mother and a devout Christian. She was a member of the Women's Methodist club and not only a member of the Melrose Methodist Church but also was the choir director. Marlene had a wonderful singing voice and played piano exceptionally. She was known to sing and play at many weddings, church performances and funerals.
Surviving Marlene are her three daughters, Denise Fischer of Griffithsville, KY, Paula Chinn of St. Albans, WV, Krisa (Ray) Forbes of Argillite, KY; two sons, Chuck (Tara) Chinn of Greenup, KY, Mike (Kim Chinn) of Hanging Rock, OH; one sister, Clara Loue (Larry) Booth of Ft. White, FL; one brother, Jerry (Vicki) Fannin of Raceland; seven grandchildren, Shaun (Yori) Simmons of Miami, FL, Eric (Sara) Simmons of Lexington, KY, Erin (Tommy) Morris of Flatwoods, KY, Claton Chinn of Hanging Rock, OH, Kerra Beane of St. Albans, WV, Austin Forbes of Raceland, KY, Amber Forbes of Argillite, KY; ten great-grandchildren as well as her friends and church family.
A graveside service will be held at Plum Grove Cemetery in Greenup for Marlene on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Lay Minister Dave Jackson officiating.
