Okie Blanton Edwards, Jr. 89, of Ashland, Ky died Saturday, January 25, 2025 in Ironton, Oh. He was born May 2, 1945 in Boyd County, Ky a son of the late Okie Blanton Edwards, Sr. and Sarah Irene Hale Edwards. He was a United States Army Veteran and a Forklift Operator for Hanson Brick Company. He is preceded in death by his dad and sister Bonnie Lou Edwards. He is survived by his sister Barbara Sue (Alex) Edwards Gillispie of Ashland, Ky, three nieces and a nephew. There are no services planned at this time for Okie. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Edwards.
