Ashland, KY - Charles Howard Ferguson, Jr., 75, of Ashland, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. Chuck, a man of unwavering faith and a gentle spirit, will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Chuck was born July 3, 1950, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Charles Howard Ferguson Sr. and the late Tena Belle Gilkerson Ferguson.
Chuck was a proud Marshall University graduate and retired as a Personnel Director of Kentucky Power, a role in which he made significant contributions, and pastored numerous churches in Kentucky and West Virginia, most recently at 13th Street Free Will Baptist Church.
Chuck's family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Debbie Ferguson of Ashland, who was his constant companion and source of strength. His two sons, Matthew Charles Ferguson (Adriane) and David Perry Ferguson, were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his father, Charles Howard Ferguson, Sr. of Danville, WV, and his brother, Gary Randall Ferguson of Danville, WV. His grandchildren, Cameron Gage Ferguson, Caden Reed Ferguson, Caitlyn Riley Ferguson, Colton Garret Ferguson, Tyson Andrew Ferguson, Kathryn Ann Ferguson, and Shelbie Sparkman were the light of his life, and he dedicated his life to their happiness and well-being.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Caniff Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A celebration of Chuck's life and the love he shared, will be conducted on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Caniff Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Charles Howard Ferguson, Sr, Chuck's father, and Gary Randall Ferguson, Chuck's brother. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Park in Danville, WV.
