Corbin - Phyllis Jean Norris Terrell, age 90, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin, KY, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
Phyllis Jean Terrell was born on May 14, 1935, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lester Arnold Norris and Carrie Travis Norris.
Phyllis was a steadfast member of the Central Baptist Church of Corbin, KY, where she found comfort in her faith. Her love was boundless, extending to her voluntary work at Furever Friends, where her love for animals was shown by her time and compassion spent with animals in need.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Jr., and her siblings Edward Norris and Mildred Walters.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Linda Tate (Larry), of Corbin, KY; Marcy Harrison (Brad) of Fairfax, VA; Bob Terrell of Corbin, KY; Patty Terrell of Highlands Township, MI; and Ron Terrell of Jenks, OK.
Phyllis is also survived by her grandchildren; Audra Kate Tate, Cameron Tate (Jessica), Ryan Tate (Julianne), Emily Harrison, Jennifer Ridgel, Hunter Snider, Abby Snider, Taylor Terrell; and by her great grandchildren, Penelope Tate, Renn Gibbs, Britton Tate, Christine Henderson, and Chloe Ridgel.
Memorial visitation for Phyllis Terrell will be from 11am until 12noon on Monday June 30, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her service will begin at 12noon with Rev. Josh Pollitt officiating. Graveside prayers and Goodbyes will follow her service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' honor to the National Kidney Foundation, or to the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter at, 66 Busy Ln. Corbin, Ky 40701.
