Rachel Browning Copley
Rachael Browning Copley, 95 years old, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Copley was born in Princeton, W.Va., on May 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Maggie Plaster Browning and John Browning.
Rachel married the love of her life Charles Edward Copley, Sr., on April 27, 1946. They were married 62 years before he died in 2008.She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Ron Alexander and four siblings.
Rachel was a beautiful, loving, compassionate, Christian Lady. She loved the Lord, her family and the Church. She loved to witness; her humble spirit and beautiful smile touched so many people. She was a Prayer Warrior and a great encourager; the oldest member of Southside Nazarene Church; served as Pastor's Wife at Argillite, Durbin, Worthington, Olive Hill, and Corbin Nazarene Churches in Kentucky. Also at St. Cloud and Tampa Palms Nazarene Churches in Florida.
Survivors include her loving son, Charles and his wife Joann, of Catlettsburg, a daughter, Jane Copley of South Shore, Ky., a sister, Murldean Stover of Virginia; grandchildren, Ryan Copley (Heather) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Julie Thornbury (Shawn) of Ashland, Ky., Shawn Black (Debbie) of Florence, Ky,, Jamie Black (Greta) of Lexington, Ky., and Tawnee Messer (Victor) of Catlettsburg; and 16 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, a host of friends, and her loving Church.
The Family would like to thank the employees and volunteers for their kind, loving care at King's Daughters & Sons.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Southside Nazarene Church, 434 36th Street, Catlettsburg, from 3:30 until 6 p.m. The Memorial Celebration will follow at 6 p.m. with her Pastor Rev. Chris Crank and Rev. James Webster. Arrangements by Neal Funeral Home, Catlettsburg. Final resting place in Buchanan Chapel Cemetery on Monday.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Catlettsburg Southside Nazarene Church.
