Rita Sharon Cole Sylvia, 76, of Russell, KY, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 3, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rita was born July 31, 1941, in Boyd County, KY, to the late Frank Edward and Stella Marie Fraley Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robert Syliva Jr.

Rita retired from AEP as a bookkeeper and belonged to Beech Street Christian Church. Surviving her are her children, Charles David Jr. and his wife, Carrie Sigler, of St. George, Utah., Gregory Edward and his wife, MichalAnn Sigler, of Russell, KY., and her stepdaughter, Suzanne Marie and her husband, John Nementz, of West Covinia, CA.; and a sister, Karen Sue and her husband, Ed Hathaway, of Enon, OH; her grandchildren, Gregory Scott and his wife, Courtney Sigler, David Edward and his wife, Minerva Sigler, Catherine Colleen Sigler, Benjamin Edward Sigler, Cole Bradley Sigler; and her four great-grandson, Nathan, Eli, Izaiah and Zander Sigler.

Funeral services for Rita will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial will follow services in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Russell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the funeral home.
