Flatwoods, Kentucky - Ronald Darius Miller, 87 of Flatwoods, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 8, 2025, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born on April 19, 1938 in York, Kentucky, a son of the late William "Bill" and Rose Patton Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Edgar Miller, Harold Miller, and Hershell Miller, and two sisters, Wanda Hieneman and Judy Virgin.

Ronald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, participating in local activities and attending any event involving his children and grandchildren. He was a youth basketball and baseball coach at Greysbranch Elementary for several years. He was an avid storyteller and could often be heard reminiscing about his life, family, friends and adventures growing up on Big White Oak in rural Greenup County. He was a devout Christian and loved the Lord.

He was a Kentucky Colonel and a proud member of the McKell High School, Class of 1956. He was a former Railroad Carman and Engine Carpenter with C&O/Chessie System/CSX Railroad, in Russell, KY where he worked for nearly 30 years. He also had a keen interest in politics and was very active and influential in state and local political campaigns.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lelia Shone (Davidson) Miller, his three sons Ronald (Mary) Miller, Phillip (Jeannine) Miller, and Martin (Rhonda "Gidget") Miller; four grandchildren, William "Drew" Miller, Davidson "Davey" Miller, Kenton Miller and Ava Miller as well as a host of extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly. His family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other staff of the Intensive Care Unit of King's Daughters Medical Center who cared for him with great kindness and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
