Russell Harold Stapleton
Russell Harold "Poppy" Stapleton, 87, of Taylorsville, Kentucky, formerly of Ashland, died peacefully Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Signature Health Care.
He was born June 24, 1932, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles Wince and Amanda Sarah Dennis Stapleton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Russell David Stapleton.
Russell was a longtime member of Beech Street Christian Church in Ashland and Briar Ridge Christian Church in Mt. Eden, Kentucky. He retired following a 60 year career as a salesman with Economy Foods in Huntington, W.Va.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Wayne (Daphne) Stapleton of Taylorsville, Ky.; daughter, Melissa Dawn Burgess of Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren, Timothy Russell Stapleton, Thaddaeus Ryan Stapleton, Sarah Amanda (Matthew) Bolin, James Aaron (Melissa) Burgess; great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Nathan, Camryn and Logan Bolin; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Ashland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the gravesite.
