William E. "Bill Buck" Waggoner, 84, of Grayson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland following a 28-month battle with cancer. He was born July 3, 1930, in Grayson, a son of the late Oliver Clifford "Chip" and Cassie Clarice Buck Waggoner. Bill was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sasha Rae Brown and Derek Lee Brown, and two sisters, Dorothy Rae Womack and Barbara Ann Pope. Bill was of the Baptist faith. He was a 63-year member of Trimble Masonic Lodge 145, F&AM, in Grayson and the El Hasa Shrine, where he was a very active participant in the A-Team, providing transportation to patients of Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was also a member of the El Hasa Motor Corps, Indra Consistory 32nd, a former director and lifetime member of Royal Order of Jesters Court 172, a member of the Kachina Klub of Ashland and a 44-year member of BPO Elks Lodge 350 of Ashland. Bill was a Kentucky colonel and admiral. He is survived by a daughter, Cheri (Tracy) Brown of Grayson; a brother, Larry (Deloris) Waggoner of Russell; and a brother-in-law, Jim Womack of Grayson. Bill will be greatly missed by his loving family of 26 years, Janie Damron, Debra Brown, Jamie Damron, Lynn Felty, Rita Kinner and Angela Woods and their family members. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Brother Gary Sparks. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens in Grayson. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home, where there will be Masonic and Scottish Rite services at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Brown, Seth Brown, David Brown, Christopher Brown, Grant Clay, Kirt Inscho, Tyler Kinner and Channing Richardson.
