Russell, Kentucky - William Peter "Pete" Stewart 67, of Russell, KY went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at his home following a courageous battle with A.L.S.

He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on March 8, 1958, and was the son of the late Roger & Doris Little Stewart.

He retired as a project manager with CCS Construction in Plain City Ohio and a was member of the Old Steam Baptist Church. Pete was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a friend to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Stewart.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Lynn Tackett Stewart; four children, Dustin Casey Stewart and his wife Marlissa of Flatwoods, Brittany Elyse Sharkasi and her husband Adam of Lovettsville VA, Tera Danielle Clere and her husband Steven of Ashland and Seth Allen Roark of Pittsburg PA; a sister, Susie Riffe and her husband Gary of Catlettsburg; a sister in law, Debbie Stewart of Ashland; seven grandchildren, Shelby Stewart, Milo Sharkasi, Bram Sharkasi, Lilah Sharkasi, Jasper Clere, Audrey Clere and Thomas Clere; an honorary grandson, Cody Hartsell, a special nephew, Nick Ratliff along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Pete's family would like to thank all the ALS support community and his caregivers, Robin Tackett and Becky Mills.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup, KY by Brother Rodney Vance. Burial will follow in the Melvin Cemetery in Wurtland, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home.
