William Eugene "Gene" Wilburn, 87, of Rush went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, peacefully at his residence. Gene was born October 19, 1937, in Denton, KY a son of the late, Emerson and Myrtle Hicks Wilburn. Gene loved the Lord and shared his testimony all throughout his life. He has been an ordained minister with the Christian Baptist Association since 1976. Gene's most recent pastoral position was at Hitchens Gospel Mission, where he served for many years. Additionally, he has served as Pastor at Three Mile Christian Baptist Church and Straight Creek Independent Freewill Baptist Church, and as Associate Pastor at Westwood Christian Baptist Church. Gene also served his country honorably in the US Army from 1956-1959. Gene retired from Armco after 33 years of service. Gene had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed making and repairing Grandfather Clocks. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 and a half years, Aloma Wells Wilburn; three children, Dwayne (Delalea) Wilburn, Pamela (William) Allen and Michael (Shelli) Wilburn; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends who grieve his loss. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday and after 9 am Wednesday until the service hour. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro.
